Autumn in the Country
Autumn in the Country
Cool breezes, sweaters, socks, slippers...
Fruit, an abundance of fruit....
Pears, apples plums...........They are ripe and ready for the
picking!!
SWEET PEARS PICKED JUST RIGHT...
So on our Menu tonight
Sweet Pear Tart
Let's get started.....
A basket of ripe pears
1 box of butter puff pastry ( you can make your own or
find the easy way)
make 2 tarts:
parchment paper
2 cookie sheets
2 tbsp of butter cut into small cubes
1/2 cup of sugar
cinnamon
2 tsp of corn starch
1/4 tsp of salt
1 egg beaten
peach mango jam for topping (melt in microwave)
Peel and core your pears. I use a small scoop to core the pears.
Now peel many because once they bake they shrink.
I truly believe that you can never have too much in a tart.
Cut them into bite size pieces
In a bowl add the pears, sugar, corn starch salt, and
for a variation I added dried cranberries.
Now it's time to line your cookie sheets with parchment paper.
Lay out your puff pastry.
Now scoop them onto the thawed pastry right in the middle.
Add 1 tbsp of cubed butter
Sprinkle cinnamon on top.
Now bring up the sides of the pastry leaving a small opening
for the steam to escape.
Brush the tops with an egg wash and then pour over your
melted jam.
Bake at 400 degrees for one hour. Keep an eye on them
so that they don't burn.
Yummy!!
Can't you just taste the sweetness!!!
As always, love it when you visit!
