Winter Wreath Tutorial

                                      Hello Friends!
                         Welcome Back!

We are having extreme cold and wintery weather here in
Toronto so what better way to pass the time .......
                  Finding Inspiration in Blog world..

Here at  The Essence of Home  Kelly was featuring her lovely

winter wreath that she had purchased from Ikea in 2011.
It now being 2014 I knew I would have a better chance at making this then trying to find it at our Ikea store.

So I set out and gathered up my supplies that I had on hand.

                                          Black Yarn
                                           Gray Yarn
                                         $store grapevine wreath
                                          hearts
                                           craft paint
                                            ribbon
                                             glue gun

Started wrapping first with the black yarn..

Then covering the black with the gray...

As you can see in Kelly's wreath the hearts are soft and wooly.

Well when you don't have soft hearts the next best heart that I
had on hand were these wooden hearts on string that I
made many years ago.
So out came the craft paint and I painted them to look
similar to the soft and wooly ones.

To assemble them onto the wreath I cut off the string and wrapped yarn around the bottom of the wreath and let it hang at different lengths...now this is where the glue gun comes in...
I proceeded to glue the yarn to the tops of the hearts.

You can see this here up closer.

Lastly came the ribbon...
Made a large bow then glued ribbon on for the hanger.
